A Spark of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna – OOOOH I love a good space opera! This one is more focused on the adventure and the battle than the romance which, while I’m a sucker for a romance novel, I’m actually relieved for - a fresh scenario in a genre that seems to churn out clone after clone. A VERY cool retelling of the Indian epic The Mahabharata, this book is new and different, exciting and emotionally captivating. Finally! Some diversity in the world of retellings. Fantasy and sci-fi will never be the same. For ages 13-17 (and me 30something).
